the fulbright diaries
based in Taipei, Taiwan
On December 14, 2021, I arrived in Taipei, Taiwan — and this is the start of an unexpected adventure of 7 months living in Taiwan and a new chapter in my life! I fondly recall when I first explored Taipei in October 2019 with my SG exchange friends, Amy, KZ, Eva, and Robert. My initial impression — Taipei is vibrant and full of life. I instantly felt welcomed by the friendliness of Taiwanese locals that resonated with me. I was intrigued by the local night markets, deep-rooted history, stunning landscapes, the serenity of the ocean, and most importantly, the pride that locals had for their home. And two years later, I am blessed to call this city and country my temporary home. I am eager to immerse myself into my new surroundings with curiosity, while sharing my honest experiences and reflections.
I will be serving as an English Teaching Assistant at a local Junior High School. In doing so, I hope to empower my students in their English learning, promote cross-cultural learning, and expand their global perspective.
Feel free to follow along my journey!
