about

Hello, my name is Catherine!

I am 23 years old and primarily based in Seattle, Washington. I often perceive my life in chapters full of diverse lessons, people, and experiences that make up my personal growth journey.

As a child, Seattle was all I ever knew. For this reason, I craved change and fostered a curiosity for unfamiliarity.

As a university student, I followed my instinct to take autonomy, be fearless, and seek out new opportunities. In doing so, I discovered my passions and my identities — as a mentor, teacher, researcher, traveler, athlete, global citizen, pre-med student, and more — that I hold onto with pride. Ultimately, my love for human connection and service toward others is what provides me with a sense of purpose.

Since graduating during the pandemic, I strengthened my adaptability, practice resiliency, and embraced uncertainty. This period offered its challenges yet reaffirmed my values and what holds importance in my life.

I have since started a new chapter as a Fulbright Scholar teaching English in Taipei, Taiwan. When I return to the US in July 2022, I shall begin my journey as a medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

A few of my favorite adventures: solo traveling in Nepal, catching sunrise at Mount Batur in Bali, road tripping in Costa Rica, dancing at the techno clubs in Berlin, a quintessential summer love in Europe, home stays in rural Chile, a classic Seattle summer night, late-night eats at Singaporean Hawker Centres and Taiwanese Night Markets, anything and everything that felt spontaneous.
